Q: Can I sit in the children’s classroom with my child?
A: No. Adults are not allowed to stay in the children’s classrooms.
Q: My child has never been with someone other than parents. What if my child cries?
A: Many children cry at first. Our helpers are used to helping children adjust to new spaces. Most children do much better within a few weeks of regularly visiting. Please inform our helpers of how long you are willing to let your child cry before our staff asks you to come get your child. Here are some tips to help your child be successful:
- Talk with your children about fun new toys and people they will see.
- Reassure them that you are going to a class and will see them soon.
- Let children bring a comforting item to class, like a blanket or special toy.
- Drop off quickly and leave the area.
- Do not come back to check on your children. If they see you, they may start crying again. You may ask at the information desk during break for an update on your children.
